SEEDS coordinators will prepare different topics, workshops, visits and activities related to the two main issues of the project, Environment and music.

The schedule may include workshops/sessions on sustainable development, the environment, carbon emissions, organic farming, global warming (climate change), the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), renewable energy sources (focus on Iceland's hydroelectric and geothermal energy). During this process we will organize visits with environmental interest such as going to the recycle centres of Reykjavik (SORPA) or a geothermal power plant.

Volunteers may work some days with the city of Reykjavík in the cemeteries; where we will help with raking leaves, beautifying the gardens, work on the recycling system among other tasks.

Iceland Airwaves is an annual music festival held in Reykjavík in late October, this year it takes place between October 30 and November 3. More information at www.icelandairwaves.is

The festival main focus is showcasing new music, both Icelandic and international. The first show was held in 1999 as a one-off event and subsequently has become one of the premier showcases for new music in the world, with hundreds of journalists and industry people in attendance. It has become known for its intimacy and party spirit and has been called "the hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar" and an "unbelievable zest for music and celebration".

Please note that SEEDS does not provide the festival pass for access to the main concerts but volunteers can attend many of the off-venue events and concerts, which are open and for free.

Volunteers will be sleeping in shared rooms/dorms in a sleeping bag accommodation. Please bring your own sleeping bag.

Volunteers will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities.
